Rooms

All is pure white inside the bedrooms, with just a touch of grey wood. Clad ceilings and no-fuss high-quality furnishings create an airy feeling. Every room (32 in total over 5 levels) has a balcony or small terrace, and most enjoy views westwards across the sea to the island of Delos, apart from a few which glimpse the sea or Mykonos town.

Kingsize beds and mattresses are from the organic Cocomat company and crisp white linen will ensure a restful night’s sleep. Photography, by an artist called Louise, has been cleverly backlit to double as soft lighting. No mod-con has been overlooked: LG plasma screen satellite TV, a socket charger which doubles as a hand torch and an electric ‘do not disturb’ button to ensure that over zealous housekeeping staff are kept out.

Double showers with deep chocolate walls, Durant basins and Apivita products keep up the contemporary trends in the bathroom - not forgetting the anti-slam loo seat, which ensures that a sense of ‘grace’ is retained at all times!

The 2 Family Suites have 2 large rooms and their balconies face towards Delos. Junior Suites are distinguished from Deluxe Rooms by their sofabeds - ideal if you have a child with you. Junior Suites with plunge pool have a white, cube-like plunge pools on their terraces - the clue is in the name; while the Mykonos Suite comes with 1 bedroom and a large, private veranda with loungers and dining space.

The 3 largest suites - VIP, Honeymoon and Grace - boast extra decadent features like private sun lounges, wet-bars, steam rooms and increasingly large, temperature controlled plunge pools.

Eating

The poolside restaurant and bar, offers salvation in the form of divine breakfasts and delicious lingering lunches.

Breakfast is a la carte, and perfectly suited for late risers as it runs until 11.00am. Juices are squeezed to order, coffee is delicious and eggs can be prepared in all shapes and sizes including the revitalising Cretan omelette, filled with feta, potatoes, onions and paprika. As for rehydration, a grand-sounding 'dedicated water menu' dispels incipient headaches with a choice of Voss, Evian, San Pellegrino or the northern Greek Xino Nero.

If you've built up an appetite by lunchtime, you'll find delicate portions of Greek favourites like tiropites (cheese pies), fava (split-pea puree) and tomato-cucumber-feta salad, as well as more international snacks like tortillas, falafel, 'Grace-burgers', pasta dishes and chilled gazpacho to beat the heat.

Dining out options are extensive, from the simple taverna next to the hotel to some swanky places in Mykonos town. One of the most atmospheric is Sea Satin Market on a rocky headland below the windmills beyond Little Venice - fresh grilled fish, a never-ending procession of mezedes, and optional tabletop dancing as the music is ramped up after midnight. Edem is a long-standing favourite, with fresh fish and various lamb dishes served around a sunny courtyard pool. Philippi serves trad Greek food at trad Greek prices, while the Belvedere Hotel boasts Greece's only Nobu, for authentic Japanese finesse.

Activities

• Stretch out beside the pool and enjoy the westward coast views; or wander down to Agios Stefanos beach for a longer swim
  
• Venture into Mykonos town (Chora) for a spot of shopping: bespoke jewellery, designer clothes and original art shops, interspersed with the usual tourist tack
  
• Then party the night away in one of the many bars and clubs packed into the town's tiny cobbled streets; there's a vibrant gay scene as well as plenty of retro and fancy dress extravaganzas
  
• Enjoy a pamper at the hotel’s Boutique Spa with steam room, snail shower and massage, as well as a nail bar

Paradise, sandwiched between Super and Paranga, is where the younger party scene is at; Super Paradise, a little louder, is packed with bars but still a stunning spot; Elia is the island’s longest sandy beach, pebbly Lia is popular with the island’s gay crowd, while remote Ayios Sostis lets you get away from the masses

• Don't forget to pop across to the sacred isle of Delos, with its ruins of a once-magnificent ancient treasury, including a row of monumental marble lions

Kids

Although it is primarily aimed at couples, children of all ages are welcome here, and the adjacent beach and the relative seclusion are big draws. Cots and babysitting are available on request. Children under 12 stay for free in rooms that can accommodate a cot or sofa bed.

The best rooms for families of 4 are the 2-Bed Deluxe Rooms (two kingsize bedrooms), Superior Suites (which have either two bedrooms, or a double sofa bed in the living area) or the Premium Suites (double sofa bed in the living area). For families of 3 the Junior, Mykonos and Grace Suites have single sofa beds. All of these come with a plunge pool, and all can take a baby cot.

Location

Mykonos island is part of the Cyclades Islands, southeast of Athens, and has regular ferry, hydrofoil and air connections with Athens, as well as neighbouring islands (e.g. Paros, Naxos, Santorini). Grace Mykonos overlooks Agios Stefanos beach, 1.5km north of the new port and about 5km (5-10 minutes' drive) north of Chora (Mykonos Town).

By Air

By Boat
If you are island-hopping, ferries run from Piraeus (1-2 daily, 3-5 hours) or Rafina (2-4 daily, 2-4 hours), and your closest neighbours are Syros and Tinos.

By Car
It's easy to hire a car on Mykonos, but it is a small island, and you may prefer to hire a moped, or to use taxis and taxi-boats, rather than hire a car. In high season, parking can be a nightmare. But if you want to hire a car see our car rental recommendations. The hotel offers free parking.
